Connect Shopify
Shopify is where your orders, customers and catalog live, and the AI reads from there to answer. You connect it by creating the Razviel app in your own Shopify organization and pasting three values into your dashboard. Razviel then checks the connection live, in seven checks.
Open the Shopify connection
- Open Settings from the account menu of your dashboard.
- In Core Stack, click Connect with Shopify.
The connection has three steps.
Step 1: Create the Razviel app in Shopify
This is the only part that happens outside Razviel. In the Dev Dashboard of your Shopify organization:
- Create the app.
- Request access to Protected customer data.
- Request read_all_orders, which gives access to your older orders. The screen gives you a reason you can paste into the request.
- Paste the access scopes shown on the screen. Copy all 70 copies the full list.
- Set the app's distribution to Custom.
- Install the app on your store.
- Copy the app's Client ID and Secret.
Back in Razviel, fill in the three fields:
- Store domain — your store handle, the part before
.myshopify.com. - Client ID — from your app.
- Secret — from your app.
The app belongs to you, in your organization. There is no Razviel listing to install from a store.
Step 2: Enable Live Chat
Paste one line into your theme. It is the only step that touches your storefront. Pasting it does not turn the chat on. See Enable Live Chat on your storefront.
Step 3: We check everything
Razviel runs seven checks against your store, in the order you did the steps. Connect turns on when all seven are green. Each line opens to show its state, the reason and what to do.
- Store domain — a store answers at that address. If not, check the handle.
- Client ID and Secret — the pair from your app works.
- Protected customer data — Shopify granted access to customer data.
- Read all orders request — Shopify granted access to your older orders.
- Access scopes — every scope on the list was granted. If some are missing, the line says how many: add them to your app version and release it again.
- App installed on your store — the app is created and installed.
- Live chat detected on your storefront — the line you pasted loads, on this store.
Where each fix happens
- A problem with the store domain or the keys is fixed in step 1, in Razviel.
- A problem with the live chat line is fixed in step 2, in your theme.
- Protected customer data, read_all_orders, scopes and installation are fixed in Shopify. Shopify reviews the two access requests, and publishes no timeline for read_all_orders. The checks turn green on their own when Shopify grants access.
Your operation does not start until read_all_orders is granted.
Your store is linked to this workspace
The first verified connection links your store to your workspace permanently. The link is made with your store's ID number in Shopify, not its address, so renaming your .myshopify.com address does not break it. You can disconnect and reconnect later, but only the same store. See Disconnect and reconnect.
FAQ
Which Shopify plan do I need?
Shopify Plus. Razviel accepts Shopify Plus stores only. See Before you start.
Shopify approved read_all_orders but the check is still red. Why?
Approval unlocks the scope; it does not add it. Add the scope to your app version and release it again.
Do I have to connect Shopify before Gorgias?
Yes. Gorgias is checked against the store you connected, so Shopify comes first.
